It is my great pleasure to invite you to explore the department of Fisheries and Marine Bioscience, Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST).
Bangladesh is considered one of the most suitable regions for fisheries in the world, and the third-largest aquatic biodiversity in Asia after China and India. In the fiscal year 2018, Bangladesh earned Tk 4,500 crore by exporting around 69,000 metric tons of fish and fish products and has ranked third in the world in terms of inland fish production (FAO). The fisheries sector plays a very important role in the national economy, contributing 3.69% to the GDP of the country and 22.60% to the agricultural GDP (FRSS, 2016).
